Some of our favorite seasonal snacks.
Gingerbread men
We love eating people. That is, bite-sized people with a perfect balance of crunchy and chewy and a little, spicy zing to keep you on your toes. What’s not to like? Plus, you can pretend you are Lord Farquaad eating Gingerbread Man.
Hot pot
This versatile and customizable meal includes a burning hot, flavorful broth with all the tofu, napa cabbage and enoki mushrooms you can devour — making you feel like a lucky leprechaun with a pot of gold. If you know us, you know that tofu is the reason for our existence. Add in sauces and green onions, and you’ve got yourself a wondrous mix of flavor.
Risotto with truffle oil, parmesan cheese and black pepper
This thick, rich, creamy, high-calorie, gut-filling goodness pairs well with any other holiday dish. Topped with truffle oil to make the flavor more decadent and black pepper to add a small kick, this risotto is so amazing it will pop your pants off.
Pumpkin muffins with walnuts and cream cheese frosting
These muffins are an essential fall recipe. Combine walnuts and cream cheese frosting with a pumpkin base, you’ll need a gym membership because these muffins are so good that you won’t stop.
French onion soup
It’s required that you drink this from a lionhead bowl. This rich and flavorful soup is one that will warm your belly with a thick layer of cheese and soft bread that’s soaked up the yumminess.
Fondue (both the cheese and chocolate kind)
It’s self-serve and can fill your heart’s endless desires for cheese and chocolate. A perfect dip for bread, strawberries or bananas, you can keep eating until your heart is content — or until your stomach explodes.
A really good quiche
Imagine waking up on a holiday to a freshly baked quiche in the morning. Dive into this fluffy, eggy, cheesy and onion-y creation with a flaky, buttery crust, and you’ll be in heaven.
Lemon cake
This is a direct recreation — dare we say even better version — of the Starbucks lemon loaf Divya makes every year. Soft, fluffy and topped with a crunchy glaze, it is a perfectly homey holiday food that is sure to fill your stomach and your heart. The acidity from the lemon also balances out the sugar, so basically, it’s zero calories.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows
It’s only good if the hot chocolate is burning your tongue off and topped with a cup of mini marshmallows. However, you’d better use milk to get the complete, comforting effect. Using water in hot chocolate is blasphemy.
PEPPERMINT BARK !!!
Creamy, sweet and minty — peppermint bark is a perfect marriage of the most Christmassy flavors of all time. Is it even possible to bite into this and not get reminded of some serious holiday nostalgia?
