Leadership hosts In-n-Out fundraiser

The 40 students who took the Leadership class up on its offer of a lunch from In-n-Out last month received a delicious burger without even having to rush off-campus and speed to make it back in time.

Students had the choice to order a hamburger, cheeseburger or double-double. The prices were $4.75, $5.25 and $6.50, respectively.

In-n-Out fundraiser was on Nov. 15 and students were able to fill out forms with their burger requests, put the request and payment into a envelope and turn them into the manila envelope on assistant principal Karen Hyde’s door by Nov. 14.

Seniors Viraj Parmar and Will Edman headed this fundraiser for the Leadership class.

“We decided to hold the In-n-Out fundraiser because In-n-Out is a favorite food choice among students,” Parmar said. “It’s too far away to get for a regular lunch day because of the distance and underclassmen can’t go off campus.”

Parmar believed that bringing In-n-Out to campus would make it easier to enjoy and would be a nice treat for everyone.

The money raised will go to future school events and repaying for the cost of transportation and other fees, Parmar said. To determine the price to sell the burgers at, the Leadership class just added a dollar to the restaurant price.

Edman is unsure if the Leadership class will host this even again.

“We may not try and do it again because In-n-Out doesn’t have a system set up for bulk orders,” Edman said. “We had to send people to multiple In-n-Outs because we couldn’t call in an order. I think the fundraiser was successful at least for the people who got to have In-n-Out.”
