Baseball team steps up to the challenge after losing key graduating seniors

Baseball team gears up for strong start to season.

2015-2016 season recap: The Falcons went 10-15, including a noteworthy win against Sacred Heart. The team advanced to SCVAL but ended their season with a loss to in the first round to  Milpitas.

Key losses: Alumni pitcher Tyler Yoshihara, pitcher/outfielder Ryan Casini and outfielder Michael Schillage

Key returning athletes: Senior outfielder Jonathan Yun, first baseman Tony Ramirez and third basemen Brian Tatman; junior outfielders Daniel Ryu and Chris Auches

Key additions: Sophomore Zachary Li

Key matchups: Palo Alto, Los Gatos and Wilcox

Prognosis:

After losing eight players, the boys hope to replace the roles of star players this season like former pitcher Tyler Yoshihara and outfielder Michael Schillage with players such as pitcher Nathan Peng and hitters Tony Ramirez, Brian Tatman and Nathan Peng.

“After losing many key players to graduation, we will have some big shoes to fill,” Peng said. “The ultimate goal is to play to the best of our ability each game, and to finish the season with no regrets.”
