When I pop open a whiteboard marker, I expect to find the juiciest, cleanest and darkest ink to glide across the board. So when I take off the cap and see a crusty, dry — and worst of all — tip-pushed-in marker, my smile drops instantly in utter disappointment. The satisfaction of writing with a luscious marker is gone and immediately replaced by pure annoyance.
Just the thought of having to search for another one leaves me sighing and rolling my eyes. If a marker is dried out, just have some common public decency and throw it away. Don’t ruin someone else’s day by prolonging the life of a dried-up woeful writing tool.
